OCEANSIDE, NY - An Nassau County Police officer rescued a man after he slipped on a dock and into the water in Oceanside on Monday afternoon, police said. A 50-year-old man, while attempting to put gas in a duck boat, slipped on the icy dock and into the water at Bay Park Fishing Station at about 2:15 p.m. The responding officer was able to find the man, pull him out of the water and render aid until an ambulance arrived. The man was in the water for a total of half an hour. He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and possible hypothermia, police said. In Suffolk County Monday, a police officer and a good Samaritan <a href="https://patch.com/new-york/babylonvillage/cop-good-samaritan-rescue-12-year-old-boy-icy-babylon-canal">rescued</a> a 12-year-old boy who fell into an icy canal.
