Officer Rescues Man Who Slipped on Icy Dock Into Water in Oceanside
The man fell while trying to put gas in a duck boat Monday afternoon, police say.

OCEANSIDE, NY - An Nassau County Police officer rescued a man after he slipped on a dock and into the water in Oceanside on Monday afternoon, police said.
A 50-year-old man, while attempting to put gas in a duck boat, slipped on the icy dock and into the water at Bay Park Fishing Station at about 2:15 p.m.
The responding officer was able to find the man, pull him out of the water and render aid until an ambulance arrived. The man was in the water for a total of half an hour.

He was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and possible hypothermia, police said.
