The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Jan. 6.
Leaving the Scene of an Auto Accident
- On Dec. 29 at 8 a.m., a driver reported her car was damaged by a vehicle that left the scene while it was parked on Maine Avenue.
- On Jan. 4 at 8:07 p.m., a pedestrian reported she sustained a minor foot injury after she was struck by a car that left the scene while she was crossing N. Park Avenue.
Criminal Mischief

- On Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m., a driver reported his car was damaged while parked near South Side High School.
- On Dec. 30 at 3:03 a.m., a front window of a store on N. Park Avenue was found broken.
- On Jan. 2 at 11:50 p.m., the owner of a restaurant on Sunrise Highway reported a patron damaged an acrylic glass wall.
- On Jan. 5 at 9:48 p.m., a homeowner on Forestdale Road reported two windows in the front of his house were broken.
Larceny
- On Jan. 5 at 5:28 p.m., a Voorhis Avenue resident reported a bicycle was stolen from the front of his house.

- On Jan. 2 at 10:42 a.m., William O. Butler, 53, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic offenses after police say he was observed operating a vehicle on Sunrise Highway.
