RVC Cop Who Caught Armed Man Named 'Cop of the Month'
Officer John Siraco chased, caught man with a gun after he had threatened bartender at Croxley's Ale House in March, officials said.

Rockville Centre Police Officer John Siraco was named “Cop of the Month” for catching a man who was found with a loaded weapon after threatening a bartender at Croxley’s Ale House in March.
Rockville Centre Police were called to the bar at 1:10 a.m. on March 20 for a disturbance, Nassau Police said. Andrew Howard, 20, of St. Albans, had been asked to leave the bar and made hand gestures at a bartender suggesting he had a gun, police said.

Responding officers found Howard driving the wrong way in a parking lot behind the bar. The defendant ran from the car but was caught a short distance away by Siraco, police said.

A loaded .38 caliber revolver was on the front passenger seat of Howard’s car, cops said.
No one was reportedly injured.

“For the diligence, dedication to duty, and highly professional conduct that P.O. Siraco displayed in regard to this occurrence, it is my pleasure to congratulate him on a ’job well done,’” said RVCPD Commissioner Charles Gennario in a statement.
