• Rome Police Investigating Theft of Historic Plaque (wibx950.com) — Rome police and the Rome Historical Society are asking for the public’s help after a more-than-century-old bronze plaque marking the historic Lower Landing at Martin and Mill Streets was stolen. The marker told the story of where Rome began, and the Society says it will not pursue further action if the plaque is quietly returned unharmed. Anyone with information is urged to call Rome police.
   

• Illicit cannabis shop shut down in Rome after multi-agency raid (cnycentral.com) — An illegal cannabis shop on Erie Boulevard West in Rome was raided and shut down after a coordinated operation involving state and local law enforcement. Officials say they seized large quantities of cannabis products, psilocybin mushrooms, and flavored nicotine vapes, and immediately padlocked the business. The action is part of a broader state push against unlicensed cannabis sellers.
   

• Two Arrested After Throwing Can At New York State Police Car (wgna.com) — An 18-year-old from Rome was identified as the driver in a late-night incident where a passenger allegedly hurled a full beverage can at a New York State Police cruiser on Route 13, sparking a brief pursuit. Troopers say the Rome teen now faces several charges related to fleeing and reckless driving, while the Taberg passenger is accused of criminal mischief and underage alcohol possession.
