<h3>About the Work</h3>
Analogue Sites is a series of steel sculptures by Spanish-American artist and preservationist Jorge Otero-Pailos, created in 2019 from fencing salvaged during the preservation of the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, designed by Finnish-American modernist master Eero Saarinen. Otero-Pailos transformed this material as a way of preserving its layered history and drawing attention to the U.S. Embassy Program—an unprecedented Cold War–era initiative by the State Department that made modernist architecture and the arts central to American diplomacy abroad. These sculptures raise awareness of these embassies at a time when they are being decommissioned and left with little to no preservation protection.
At the Jay Heritage Center, two works are placed symmetrically in the restored garden parterres, framing the central path. Their mirrored placement reflects themes of balance and reciprocity central to diplomacy and honors John Jay’s historic missions to Spain, France, and England, and his role as a founding figure in American diplomacy.
Sculptures from this series have been exhibited in New York on Park Avenue; in London at Regent’s Park and at Winfield House, the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom; and in Washington, D.C., at the National Museum of American Design.

Otero-Pailos is an internationally recognized New York–based artist, architect, and preservationist known for his monumental casts of historical buildings. He has exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Venice Art Biennale and the British Parliament, and his works are held in major museum collections. Otero-Pailos also teaches and directs the Historic Preservation program at Columbia University GSAPP.

Connecticut Ballet Center

September 14th will bring the start of formal dance training for young dancers ages 3 &amp; up! Connecticut Ballet Center, official school of Connecticut Ballet, has openings Creative Movement &amp; Pre-Ballet for three and four-year-old girls &amp; a new Boys Ballet Class for our Saturday class program. The new class is open to boys ages 5-8 who would enjoy dancing alongside other boys &amp; with a male instructor. Connecticut Ballet Center is celebrating its 30th year of high-quality recreational and pre-professional training for aspiring dancers. Placement classes will take place after-school on September 2-3. Interested parents may schedule an orientation visit by emailing mgr@connecticutballetcenter.com. The 2026-2027 year begins on Monday, September 14th. Need-based scholarships are available by calling 203-978-0771. All CBC students are eligible to audition for performance opportunities with the professional company, Connecticut Ballet. Connecticut Ballet Center presents Creative Movement and Boys Ballet Classes

The Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC):&nbsp;Diving Deeper Into Your Faith Wednesdays, Sept.&nbsp;16 through Nov.&nbsp;18 (Dinner included at 6:15 pm on&nbsp;Oct. 7 &amp;&nbsp;28, Nov. 18) Christ Church Greenwich Campus
DOCC is a popular, transformative, and inspiring experience—an opportunity to connect deeply with others while exploring your faith and reflecting on what you believe.
Gather with the same small discussion group throughout the ten weeks, creating a space for honest conversation, meaningful connections, and deeper reflection.
Come curious, come open, and come ready to explore your faith in a welcoming community $125 per person covers the cost of food and non-alcoholic refreshments for 10 weeks. Participants need to be able to attend at least seven out of the ten classes in order for the small breakout groups to be effective.

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.

Creative Arts with Mary Newcomb meets on Fridays from 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm for ages 6-8 and 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm for ages 9-12.

Young Arts in the Studio, ages 6-8, with Olga Klymyk meets on Saturdays from 10:30 am &ndash; 12:00 pm. Her Drawing and Painting for the Junior Artist class, ages 9-12, meets from 12:30 pm &ndash; 2:00 pm.

Kathie Milligan will offer a three-week Sunday afternoon workshop in Drawing Skills for the Serious Young Artist, ages 9-12, starting November 8th, from 1:00 pm &ndash; 4:00 pm.
