2 Say They Want To Take Over Latimer's Senate Seat

One is a member of the state Assembly and the other is a political organizer.

RYE, NY — Two people have already thrown their hats into the political ring to try to fill Senator George Latimer’s state Senate seat when he become Westchester county executive. Yonkers Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer and Kat Brezler, a White Plains resident who co-founded the Bernie Sanders supporter organization People for Bernie, have said they want to vie for the job.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo can call for a special election to fill Latimer’s Senate seat but as yet hasn’t said if that will happen, the Journal News said.
