200+ Rye Elementary Students Attend Westchester Philharmonic Concert

1,200 local third through sixth graders participated in the Philharmonic's 2015 classroom music education program and concert

1,200 local third through sixth graders participated in the Philharmonic’s 2015 classroom music education program which featured renowned pianist Anne-Marie McDermott and the orchestra led by Principal Conductor Ted Sperling performing excerpts from Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Grieg’s Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2.

Two-hundred students from Rye’s Milton, Osborn and Midland Schools participated.

The February 10th concert was the culminating experience for students who had been participating in the Philharmonic’s annual classroom music education program, which integrates music into the academic classroom through curriculum guides and live presentations. The program culminates in this full-orchestra performance which, for many students, is their first time in a concert hall.
