2013 Election Lessons

What I learned from this year's Rye Elections
1. Blog posts make no difference to the outcome.  They make all of us who posted, argued our positions, and awarded our support feel better, but they made no material (as in electing / not electing specific candidates) differences.
2. Posting signs make no difference to the outcome.  They do make the city look trashy, more like Harrison, but that's about it.
3. It takes a lot of guts to run for public office and we're lucky to have people who are willing to put up with the financial cost, the time commitment, and the abuse to do so.  Thanks to all who ran, whether they won or not.
