33 Rye High School Standout Seniors Sign to Play College Sports
The student-athletes were recognized at Rye High School after committing to continue playing sports at the highest level in college.

RYE, NY — Rye High School recognized 33 seniors who have committed to continue their athletic careers in college during a letter of intent signing ceremony.
The students were surrounded by administrators, teachers, family members and teammates as they were honored for their work in athletics and academics.
Principal Andrew Hara said the group's college commitments reflected both individual effort and the support system around them.

"These commitments are a testament to all of the hard work they've put into their craft as well as the families, friends and coaches who have supported them every step of the way," Hara said. He also recognized the school's athletic leadership. "A huge shoutout to our award-winning Athletic Director Susan Reid who has steadily grown Rye athletics into the incredible program that it is across all sports."
The students represent a wide range of sports and colleges across the country. Among them are Nicholas Bucalo, who committed to Holy Cross for rowing; Lex Cox, who committed to the University of Chicago for soccer; and Ryan Crozier, who committed to MIT for rowing. Charlie Garnett is headed to the University of Chicago for football; while Lieve Geelen committed to Tulane University for swimming; and Hunter Gillies committed to the University of Mary Washington for rugby.

Other seniors recognized include Phoebe Greto, Denison University, basketball; Henry Groves, Middlebury College, tennis; and Coco Guven, Barnard College of Columbia University, fencing. Chloe Holden committed to Hamilton College for field hockey; Mia Howson to the University of Vermont for lacrosse; and Alexandra Huen to Boston University for synchronized skating. Nolan Hutson will play baseball at Le Moyne College; and Tessa Labovitz will play soccer at Emory University.
The list of standouts also includes Jack Levine, Cornell University, lacrosse; Issy Mann, Washington & Lee University, field hockey; Carson Miller, Harvard University, lacrosse; and Gabriela Moreno Chavez, U.C. Berkeley, rowing. Clare Nemsick committed to Bucknell University for soccer and lacrosse; while Jackson Pineault committed to Radford University for baseball; and Nicholas Sellar committed to Tufts University for rowing.
Also signing were Milo Shirakawa, Bard College, basketball; Henry Shoemaker, Harvard University, football; and Carsten Steinmann and Ben Stigliano, both Fairfield University, rugby. Nigel Strazzini committed to Harvard University for lacrosse; Sam Surak to Cornell University for rugby; Paige Tepedino to the University of Southern California for lacrosse; Annie Toulouse to Georgetown University for lacrosse; Ben Truman to Middlebury College for cross-country and track and field; Beau Whaling to Duke University for lacrosse; Owen Wismer to the University of St. Andrews for soccer; and Alex Wood to Washington & Lee University for lacrosse.
