Arrest At Rye Beach Over 'Lewd Act' In Women's Restroom: RPD

RYE, NY — A 51-year-old Nanuet man was arrested for a lewd act in Rye Town Park on Sunday, according to the Rye Police Department.

Police say a woman entered the restroom near the beach at 8 p.m. on Sunday, and encountered a man inside with his pants down exposing himself and committing a lewd act. After speaking with witnesses, police identified the suspect as Kim Governali of Rockland County, who was arrested.

He was taken to RPD headquarters and charged with public lewdness. Governali was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Rye City Court on June 1.
