Avon To Lay Off Employees, Close Rye Facility

The company received sales tax breaks from the county.

RYE, NY — All 105 employees at the Avon offices in the City of Rye will be laid off and the office will be closed. The layoffs will happen between the end of December and the end of May.

The office, located at 601 Midland Ave., will close Sept. 30, lohud.com said.

It's only been two years since Avon moved its senior employees from Manhattan to Rye.

The company received more than $16 million in sales tax breaks from the county over five years, lohud.com said.
