RYE BROOK, NY —The polls have closed and the votes have been tallied. The unofficial results are in. Here's what the voters decided in the 2022 Blind Brook-Rye Union school budget election.
The Blind Brook-Rye Union School District 2021-22 budget was approved by a wide margin.
The budget is $52,567,594 with a 2.73 percent increase over the 2021 -2022 spending package.

School officials said the tax levy will increase by 4.01 percent.
There were a total of two school board seats to be filled for three-year terms. The winning candidates are:

- Richard Buzin (incumbent)
- Samantha Smith
Controversial candidate Naomi Schaefer Riley was defeated handedly.
The proposition to "lease-purchase four (4) 72-passenger school buses at an annual cost not to exceed $103,680, for a five (5) year term, commencing July 1, 2022 and terminating on June 30, 2027, and to levy the necessary tax" was also approved.
