City of Rye to Host Pair of 9/11 Remembrances Friday

Both events are free and open to the public.

The City of Rye will be holding two events in remembrance of September 11th, according to officials.

The first event is a 9/11 Community Project in conjunction with Volunteer New York which will be held on the Village Green on from 4:30 pm to 5:45 pm on Friday, Sept. 11. There will be 4 stations including a) Thank You to First Responders, b) Support Deployed Military, c) Create Math Games for kindergarteners and first graders, and d) Book Drive.

Following the conclusion of the 9/11 Community Project, Rye will host a 9/11 Commemorative Ceremony from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. beginning at the Locust Avenue Fire House and then processing to the 9/11 Memorial Gazebo.

Officials ask that you join them by participating in a service project, or through a donation of a new or gently used book.
