City of Rye Sustainability Committee & The Rye Arts Center Announce Slate of Judges for Healthy Yard Lawn Sign Contest

Contest for Best Design to Promote Beautiful Yards Without Synthetic Chemicals

Rye, New York--September 20, 2016-- The City of Rye Sustainability Committee (RSC) in partnership with The Rye Arts Center is pleased to announce the names of the five judges who will choose the winners in the lawn sign design competition. The community-wide contest is to create a logo for the official lawn sign of the RSC's healthy yard program. The artwork should capture the spirit of the Rye Healthy Yard Program’s mission, which is to promote awareness about the health and environmental benefits of using natural landscaping.

The judges will be the Honorable Joseph A. Sack, mayor of the City of Rye; the Honorable Catherine Parker, Westchester County legislator and owner of Parkers in Rye; Christine Siller, Executive Director of the Rye Nature Center; Jennifer Sandling, board member, The Rye Arts Center; and Tracy Stora, member, Conservation Commission/Advisory Council City of Rye.

All entries must be received by Friday, November 4th at 5 PM and the winners will be announced at a reception to be held at 6 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Rye Arts Center, 51 Milton Road, Rye, NY. Categories include a grand prize as well as four age-based sections. Full contest guidelines are available at ryesustainability.com.
