County Schedules Playland Bus Service During The Season

RYE, NY — Westchester is making getting to Rye Playhouse easier during the season via the Bee-Line buses. County Executive George Latimer announced Monday that seasonal Bee-Line service to Playland will start on Tuesday, June 19, along Routes 13, 75 and 91 to provide access to the park for many visitors and employees. The changes are effective on days that Playland is open. The park is closed on Mondays, except for July 2 and September 3.

On Routes 1 and 2, two Saturday evening northbound trips will be added from the 242nd Street Subway Station to Getty Square in the 7 o’clock hour. “We hear our customers’ concerns and are responding by adding trips to enhance the quality and improve the convenience of Bee-Line service,” Latimer said. In addition, to reduce overcrowding on Routes 1 and 2, three weekday evening northbound trips will be added between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. from the 242nd Street Subway Station to Getty Square. There will be minor schedule adjustments to evening trips leaving the 242nd Street Subway Station.

To improve connections to Metro-North trains, the Bee-Line has adjusted its schedule on select commuter trips serving train stations. There will be minor Weekday schedule adjustments to improve train connections on the following Routes: 34, 38, 39, 64, 65, 66 and 71.

Route 75 will connect with Metro-North’s New Haven Line trains arriving and departing the Rye station. The first bus will depart the Rye station at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The last evening bus will depart Playland at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10:45 p.m. on Sundays. Select trips on Route 13 will be extended to serve Playland and the Rye station.

Routes 7, 45, and 62 will also have minor service adjustments effective Monday, June 18.
