Coyote Alert! Rye Police Say Beware!
The City of Rye is alerting the public to increased coyote sightings.
This is the City of Rye Police Department alerting residents to an increase in Coyote sighting within the City of Rye.
If you see a coyote do not approach or feed these animals. Close all garbage cans holding food.
Small children should have adult supervision while outdoors.
If you witness a coyote being aggressive, loud noises and forceful behavior, including waving your arms and throwing sticks or stones, will normally scare them away.
Coyote sightings should be reported to the City of Rye police at 914-967-1234 and the Department of Conservation at 845-256-3098.
