UPDATE: New Haven Line Back on Schedule, Metro-North Worker Injured

A piece of equipment that inserts ties on the track derailed causing the injuries.

UPDATE—Thursday, May 5, 2016: 4:15 p.m.: Metro-North said that the New Haven Line is now running on schedule. There were delays caused by an incident near the Old Greenwich station that injured a railroad worker.

UPDATE—Thursday, May 5, 2016, 2:55 p.m.: A Metro-North worker was injured after an accident on the New Haven Line tracks near the Old Greenwich station Thursday..

A spokeswoman said the worker suffered other minor injuries when a piece of equipment that inserts ties on the track derailed shortly after noon, the Associated Press reports via the day.com.

Metro-North tweeted that there are delays up to 60 minutes on the New Haven Lines.

The spokeswoman said full service should be restored by rush hour.

There are delays on Metro-North’s New Haven Line because a maintenance vehicle’s wheel went off the track near the Old Greenwich station Thursday.

According to NBC Connecticut, there are 15- to 20-minute delays between Rye in Westchester County and Old Greenwich.

No injuries were report.
