Driver Killed In Manhattan Crash Identified As Westchester Man
The 58-year-old Hudson Valley man died several days after the crash on the Westside Highway near Hell's Kitchen, according to the NYPD.

RYE BROOK, NY — A Rye Brook man has died nearly two weeks after his SUV was hit by another vehicle on the West Side Highway in Hell's Kitchen, the NYPD said.
Thomas Dunlea died Sunday, days after the Dec. 29 crash at the intersection of the West Side Highway and West 50th Street. The 58-year-old was found on the street, unconscious with a head injury, when police arrived at the accident scene.
At around 4:20 a.m. that morning, Dunlea was driving downtown along the highway in his Hyundai SUV when his car was struck by the driver of a black Mercedes-Benz sedan. Dunlea was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he died Sunday.

Authorities have not released details about the cause of the early morning crash, but said it is still being investigated by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad. So far, no arrests made in connection with the fatal collision, according to investigators.
At least 18 people have been injured in 16 crashes at the same intersection since 2011, according to city data. The casualties included 17 drivers and one pedestrian.
