High Tides Could Cause Flooding Overnight

A Coastal Flood Statement has been issued for southern Westchester county by the National Weather Service. It is in effect from midnight Thursday to 2 a.m. Friday. There could be minor coastal flooding near high tide.

The areas that are affected are shorelines adjacent to western Long Island Sound.

Tides could be 1/2 to 1 foot above normal.

The most vulnerable shore roads and/or basements could see minor flooding, but there is no significant threat to life or property expected.
