New Roller Coaster Proposed for Rye Playland

A new steel roller coaster could be in the works for Rye Playland.

Standard Amusements, which is set to take over management of the park pending county approval of an agreement, has renderings of the new ride at lohud.com.

Westchester County is willing to pour $58 million of taxpayer money into 11 construction projects.

The deal between Standard and Westchester County is expected to be in place by March 31.

Opening day is scheduled for May 7.
