Officials Say Rye Playland Carousel Damaged In Fire Will Reopen
No one was injured in the Sunday blaze.
RYE, NY — The historic Rye Playland carousel that was damaged by fire Sunday will be repaired. Playland officials believed the blaze started in the carousel’s lighting fixtures. No one was injured, as about 30 people were evacuated from the ride, News 12 said.
The fire began around 4:15 p.m.
It is not known when the ride will reopen.
