The Osborn in Rye to Host Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt

As winter turns to spring, the preparations for The Osborn’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt begin. The annual event is held in memory of longtime board member and former Chair, Jack Miller.

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, The Osborn will welcome the community for a morning full of springtime and Easter fun. Annually, for nearly two decades, this event has been drawing hundreds of participants from all over Westchester County, as well as Southern Fairfield County, Connecticut. During the festivities, approximately 5,000 candy-filled Easter eggs will be hidden for children to find, gather, and enjoy. The event is split into two groups – one for children under 3 years of age and the other for children over 3. This allows the little ones to get a head start on the Hunt.

Begun as a community program, the Easter Egg Hunt provides a chance for seniors and children to interact in a way many may not have the opportunity to do otherwise. Residents of The Osborn flank the sidelines of the South Lawn and Porch to have a birds-eye view of the festivities.

“The Easter Egg Hunt is such a wonderful gathering of people of all ages to share some holiday fun,” says Matt Anderson, President and CEO of The Osborn. “It also allows visitors to enjoy The Osborn’s wonderful 56-acre campus during the most beautiful time of the year,” he added.

The event is free and open to the public and pre-registration is NOT required. The Hunt begins promptly at 11:15 am with gates opening at 10:45 am. The Osborn is located at 101 Theall Road in Rye (just off Playland Parkway Access). Participants should bring their own baskets to gather eggs. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance and be available for photos. The festivities will also feature a live DJ, dancing, and games.
