A new collaboration between Yale University and The Osborn will kick off March 9, bringing an exciting, new “lifelong learning” opportunity to Westchester area residents. The partnership, called Yale at the Osborn, is a series of six-week courses on a wide range of topics ranging from science and politics to history and cultural arts, each taught by Yale professors noteworthy for their expertise in their respective field.

Open to the public, as well as The Osborn community, the partnership will kick off with an intriguing course, “The Mystery of Sleep,” taught by sleep expert Dr. Meir Kryer. The course, which will cost $150, will provide insight to unravel the many questions surrounding the primal need for sleep, the complexities of sleep, sleep disorders, and even where our dreams take us. It’s a critical topic, given that most of us will sleep 20 to 30 years of our total time on Earth, say experts. Dr. Kryger, the professor for the initial course offering, is a well- known scholar and author on the topic and is recognized as being the first to diagnose and report on the far-reaching impact of obstructive sleep apnea.
