On Monday this week, this was forwarded to me (I took the liberty to correct some typos):

“From: Parker, Catherine

Hello again!

Our next meeting on Playland is scheduled for Monday, November 3rd, from 7-9 PM at the Rye Free Reading Room. We will be discussing the data from the 2014 season, and also I will be taking an inventory of our collective vision for Playland.

Lastly, I hope you will join me in welcoming the principals of Standard Amusement, Inc. on Monday, November 17th, again, at the Rye Free Reading Room from 7-9 PM to hear from one of the finalists of the County’s RFP for the reinvention of Playland.

I look forward to seeing you at one or both of these meetings.”

Confusion ensued. In my previous Patch posting of last week and when speaking at the Rye City Council meeting last Wednesday 10/22/14, I informed everyone that the meeting with Standard Amusements would be this coming Monday, Nov. 3rd, and that there would be a meeting to discuss Playland’s 2014 season stats and numbers and the future of the Park onMon. 11/17/14.

BUT….I was WRONG! And the reason I was wrong is because I took that information directly from statements Catherine Parker herself made at the 10/20/14 presentation by Central Amusements (link below in case you missed it, see minute markers 0:30 and 1:45).

Then, in the comment thread on my Patch piece of last week, Parker’s Legislative Aide John Filiberti submitted information that confused some of us, essentially flip-flopping which date was which meeting agenda.

On Monday further confusion ensued when Parker sent out the above email.

On Tuesday I called a contact at Standard Amusements and confirmed that they are indeed scheduled to be at the Rye Library to give a presentation to the public on MONDAY NOVEMBER 17TH, 2014, 7-9PM.

So, I apologize for putting out incorrect information to the public, but what you need to know for now is:

**Monday, November 3rd, 2014 from 7-9pm, there is a meeting to discuss Playland with County Legislator Catherine Parker at the Rye Library. Hopefully more people can make this meeting than the last one.

**Monday, November 17th, 2014 from 7-9pm, there is a presentation at the Rye Library by Standard Amusements, one of the two finalists in the bidding process for the contract to manage Playland.
