Police Rescue Boaters Before Ship Sinks Off Rye Playland
The boat sank just minutes after the rescue, police said.
Police and other emergency responders got to five boaters just in the nick of time before their boat sank Sunday.
Marine officers heard a call on the emergency radio channel for a vessel taking on water off Rye Playland.

Greenwich PD Marine Technician Fox, GPD Marine Sgt. O'Connor, CT ENCON Police Officer Nivolo and GEMS Medic Colin Basset all participated in the rescue.

The boat went down five minutes after the rescue, police said.
No one was injured and the boaters had flotation devices on-board.
