Rye, Blind Brook Budgets Up For Votes May 15

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Rye and Blind Brook school districts will be voting on their proposed 2018-19 school budgets Tuesday, May 15. For the Rye district, voters will be deciding whether to approve an $89.2 million spending package, which is up 2.67 percent over the current year.

The tax levy will increase 3.2 percent.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Rye Middle School gymnasium, 3 Parsons St.

Blind Brook voters will be deciding to OK a $45.2 million spending package. It is 2.91 percent more than the current budget.

A tax levy increase of 2.63 percent is anticipated. School officials said this is the seventh year in a row it’s been under the state mandated tax cap.
