Rye Brook Police Offer Vacant House Checks

If you go away for more than three days—and no one is checking on your home—Rye Brook homeowners can list their residence on the Rye Brook Police Vacant House list.

After filling out the request form and submitting it via email, police will check your house and the surrounding area for any suspicious activity at random times as call loads permit.

A homeowner or occupant of the location must request a vacant house watch, which will be effective for no more than 30 days, according to information on the form.

If you return before the date on the request form, you must notify the police department to take the address off the vacant house list.
