Rye Cold War Vets Receive Permanent Property Tax Exemption

The exemption can apply to either a primary residence or commercial property.

RYE, NY — Veterans who served in the Cold War and live in the Town of Rye will now being receiving a permanent property tax reduction. The active duty veterans have to have served between Sept. 2, 1945 and Dec. 26, 1991.

They will receive a maximum 15 percent tax exemption on either their primary residence or commercial property, the Journal News said.
