Rye High School To Be Open As Warming/Charging Center Monday

The school district wanted to provide families with a place where they could be warm.

RYE, NY — Because many people in Rye are still grappling with power outages, Rye School Superintendent Eric Byrne announced that Rye High School will be open until 9 p.m. Monday, March 5 to serve as a homework center, charging center and a place for families to come and be in a place with heat and electricity.

The cafeteria and library/media center will remain open during this time.

Byrne did this in consultation with Mayor Josh Cohn and Commissioner of Public Safety Michael Corcoran.

The district’s food service provider, Chartwells, will have staff on hand to provide food for those who are not able to cook in their homes.

Rye High School is located at 1 Parsons St. in Rye.
