Rye High School Ranked 4th Best in New York
Niche.com recently ranked the best public high schools in the state.

Education website Niche.com recently named Rye High School the fourth best public high school in New York.
The website evaluated schools based on several key statistics, as well as parent and student reviews. It came out with a list of the top 100 in New York, and Hudson Valley-based schools made up more than a quarter of the rankings.
Among the other Westchester County high schools on the list are Horace Greeley, ranked fifth; Edgemont, ranked sixth; Scarsdale, eighth; Blind Brook, ninth; Bronxville, 13th; Rye Neck, 15th; and Harrison, 25th.

According to the report, Rye High received an overall “A+” grade, and A-pluses for Academics, Extracurriculars, Teachers, Administration & Policies, Educational Outcomes, and Sports & Fitness.
The school’s lowest grade was a “C” rating for Student Culture & Diversity.

“Great choices of clubs,” a Rye High student wrote on the assessment. “RHS is very talented both in terms of music, theater, and arts as well as in terms of the smarts (science olympiad, math team, jsa, etc).”
The website used a detailed set of methods to rank 14,431 public high schools across the country and collected 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents.
According to Niche.com, a high overall ranking includes the following criteria:
- Students are very happy with their experience in all aspects including academics, teachers, health, safety, resources, facilities, extracurriculars, sports, and fitness;
- District schools are exceptional academic institutions in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes;
- District schools are made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture;
- Students are actively involved in a variety of extracurriculars and sports the district offers.
