Rye High School Students Honored For Academic Achievement
Five seniors were named National Merit Scholar semifinalists, and seven were named to the National Hispanic Recognition Program.

RYE, NY — Five Rye High School seniors have been singled out at National Merit Scholar semifinalists. They have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. About 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.
Additionally, seven seniors were named to the National Hispanic Recognition Program. The students earned their spots by scoring well on the PSAT/NMSQT test taken in their junior year.
The students will be recognized for their achievement with a Rye Recognition of Excellence award at a Board of Education meeting in October.
