You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 year in the Rye Neck school district.

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5
First day of school: Sept. 6
Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3-4
Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10

Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 12
Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): Nov. 8
Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11
Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 24-25
Holiday recess: Dec. 26-30 (school resumes Jan. 3)
Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16
Presidents Day/winter recess (school closed): Feb. 20-24
Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): March 31
Spring recess: April 10-14
Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 29
Last day of school: June 22
