As part of our continuing safety, security, and emergency preparedness partnership with the Rye City school district, we will be conducting live tactical drills at the Rye High School/Middle School building this coming Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: August 8, 9, and 10, between 9:00 a.m. and 3 p.m.

These training drills are incredibly important in ensuring that our police officers are familiar with the layout of the school buildings. Please do not be surprised by a large police vehicle presence at the RHS/RMS campus on August 8, 9, and 10.

Please be aware the drills will include the use of blank ammunition. A blank is a firearm cartridge that does not shoot a projectile like a bullet or pellet, but does generate a muzzle flash and an explosive sound like an actual gunshot. Please do not be alarmed if you hear loud sounds emanating from the school building on those days.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the drills, please contact our non emergency line at 914-967-1234. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
