Rye's Osborn School Prepares for Annual 'Scare Fair' Oct. 25

The following announcement is from the Osborn Parent-Teacher Organization and organizers of the Osborn Scare Fair:

The Osborn Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is hard at work on its most important fundraising event of the year, the “Scare Fair” Halloween Carnival and Silent Auction. This year, the PTO has extended the hours and the fun will run from 10am to 3:30PM on Saturday, October 25th at Osborn School, located at 10 Osborn Road in Rye, NY. The PTO hopes proceeds from the Carnival will be used to launcha cutting edge experiential learning program and bring in new technology.

Parents, teachers, staff and students welcome the entire community to take part in this family friendly event that features rides and attractions for all ages, including:

• a new Euro Bungee (a hybrid bungee jump trampoline)
• the Ultimate Survivor zip line inflatable
• a bouncy house
• trackless train
• photo booth
• cake walk and lots of games!

Enjoy lunch and delicious snacks on site and sample the international array of food and beverages prepared and sold by Osborn’s diverse families.

At the popular Silent Auction, members of the public can bid on one-of-a-kind items such as sought after sporting event tickets and memorabilia; luxury spa treatments and experiences; fun-filled sign up parties; and getaways to beautiful vacation homes. The auction closes promptly at3:30.

The Scare Fair is the Osborn School’s primary fundraiser and supports critical technology, curriculum, enrichment and arts programs that have experienced budget cuts in recent years. As Osborn rolls out its very own “Maker Space,” an innovation lab where children will learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through tinkering, building and engineering, a portion of the funds raised will help train teachers and purchase supplies and equipment for the program. In addition, the PTO hopes to modernize the auditorium, by outfitting the school with an up-to-date screen, projector and a new multi-media system.
