Seasonal Chef Cooking Demo at Rye Farmers Market Sunday 6/14

Chef Maria Reina will WOW market crowds with her early summer friend, Asparagus

One of Westchester’s beloved culinary talents, Chef Maria Reina, will host a cooking demonstration at the Rye Farmers Market this Sunday, June 14th, from 11:30 am to 1:30. In an article this week for her LoHud column, Seasonal Chef, she wrote that she is “beyond excited” for the farmers market season ahead. Chef, we have that in common. We’re so happy she’s beginning her 2015 season of local food & inspiration with us this weekend.

Every Sunday, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, Rye’s Down to Earth Farmers Market offers delicious fruits and vegetables, pasture-raised meat, poultry, and eggs, fresh fish, amazing breads and baked goods, flowers, pickles, and more.

In addition to the weekly roster of mega-talented vendors, this Sunday help us welcome LizBeth’s Dessert Boutique to the Rye Farmers Market as a rotating day vendor. Owner Elizabeth Strong (pictured here with Karen Seiger of Markets of NYC) is renowned for her talents in creating handcrafted ice creams and frozen goodies. She uses all natural ingredients and develops flavors inspired by what she sees on the farmers’ tables next to her. For instance, last weekend her Strawberry Balsamic and Honey Lavender ice creams were divine! Stop by on Sunday to discover where her creativity led her this week...see you there!
