Six Run First Inning Leads Kelly's to Victory
Kelly's Sea Level defeats Rye Roadhouse Regulars 12-8.
Six runs in the top of the first inning led Kelly's Sea Level to a 12-8 victory over the Rye Roadhouse Regulars in a Men's Softball B League game Tuesday .
After trailing 9-3 in the top of the third, the Regulars came back in the bottom of the inning on a Fred Fillat two-run homerun that brought in Mike Augustine for a 9-5 score.
A Jeff Gironda hit then brought in Henry Mastacato putting the Regulars down one, 9-8, in the bottom of the fourth.

However, that was the final run the Regulars would score, as Kelly's tallied three more runs between the bottom of the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings for the eventual 12-8 victory on a Brian Landy homerun.
Rye Roadhouse Regular Coach Fred Fillat said it was a difficult loss for his team.

"It was heart-breaking," he said. "It's getting deep in the season and we needed the win."
Despite a 4-6 record, the Regulars have a chance to rise in the standings, with two games left against Uncle Henry's Thursday and undefeated Rye Liqour the following Thursday to finish the season.
Kelly's Coach Matt Slater said games against the Regulars are always competitive.
"It's a great team to play," he said. "They always give us a good fight. Win or lose it's always a good game."
Kelly's, currently on a two-game winning streak with the win, improves to 4-5 on the season with three games left against Uncle Henry's Sunday, followed by Davy Byrne's on Tuesday before finishing the season against Uncle Henry's the following Tuesday.
Slater pitched seven innings, allowing five walks for Kelly's. Pete Collash pitched six and half innings, recording zero strikeouts for the Regulars.
