Spooktacular Oktoberfest Will Haunt The Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary
Steel your courage, live music, costumes, hayrides, and spooky Halloween fun, will soon chill the night air on the LI Sound.

RYE, NY — A new fall tradition promises to bring cackles of joy to a familiar haunt.
A weekend filled with autumn magic, Halloween thrills and family fun is nigh as the Spooktacular Oktoberfest comes to the Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary in Rye on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18.
"The Spooktacular Oktoberfest is the kind of fall weekend that brings families together," Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said. "From costumes and trick-or-treating, to hayrides, pumpkins, music and a haunted house, there’s something around every corner to keep kids entertained and give parents a chance to enjoy the season, too. We’re excited to welcome families to Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary for a celebration that combines the fun of Halloween with the beauty of Westchester’s great outdoors."

The festive fall celebration promises to have something for everyone, including live music, Halloween crafts, a haunted house, bounce house, pumpkin painting, s’mores, hayrides, and trick-or-treating. Guests can also enjoy food and beverage vendors and live animals from The Nature Company.
"Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is a spectacular place to experience fall, and the Spooktacular Oktoberfest gives visitors even more reasons to explore it," With miles of trails, beautiful views of Long Island Sound and a full lineup of activities, this event turns a day at the Sanctuary into a true fall adventure.”
Organizers said, guests are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite costumes and explore the Sanctuary’s trails while enjoying the crisp fall air and spectacular views along Long Island Sound.
The weekend’s entertainment lineup will include live music from The Saddle Ridge Ramblers and singer/songwriter Mani Cregan.
Admission is $25 per person, and children ages three and under are free. Event is from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

Parking for the event is located in Playland’s parking lot. Rain or shine. Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 1 Playland Parkway in Rye, NY, past the amusement park.
