Stranger Pulls Up to Rye Child Who Runs Away

The incident prompted the schools superintendent to remind parents of ways to warn children to stay safe.

RYE, NY - A possible luring incident was averted in Rye Tuesday near the Osborn School.

A man in a blue Jeep pulled up alongside a child near Boston Post Road and Osborn Road and asked where he was going, according to a post on myrye.com.

The blog quoted a note sent to parents from Rye Superintendent Frank Alvarez that said the child ran away and the vehicle drove off.
