Taxi Driver Crashed Cab After Stabbing Passenger Over Route, Fare

The passenger was picked up in Mount Vernon and was being driven to Rye.

RYE, NY — A taxi driver stabbed a passenger in the City of Rye early Friday morning causing his cab to crash into a tree.

Frankie Phelps, 61 was taken into custody and arrested after stabbing the 28-year-old male passenger, the Journal News said.

The passenger was picked up in Mount Vernon and apparently there was an argument of the route being taken and the amount of the fare, News 12 said.
