Thanksgiving 2015: What's Open, What's Closed in Rye and Rye Brook

See what Rye and Rye Brook town offices are closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

Thanksgiving Day is here. It’s also the start of the holiday season.

This year, like last year, we only have 28 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas so you’ll have to cram in your shopping in a four-week period.

Thanksgiving will be observed on Thursday, Nov. 26 this year. Below we have a list of early Wednesday closings, what’s open and closed on the Thanksgiving holiday, as well as town offices that are also closed on Friday, Nov. 27.

What’s closed:

  • Rye public schools and offices closed Thursday & Friday
  • City and Village Hall and offices closed Thursday & Friday
  • State and federal government offices
  • Courts
  • Port Chester-Rye Brook Library
  • Post offices
  • Most banks
  • Sanitation: No Green Waste Collection this Week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday garbage collection remain the same. Thursday garbage will be collected on Wednesday. Wednesday recycling will be collected on Tuesday, Thursday recycling will be collected on Wednesday, Friday Recycling schedule remains the same.

Metro-North Railroad will have additional trains running into and out of Grand Central Terminal before and after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Click below for train times:
