Rye Recreation Leagues are finishing regular season play this week with the exception of the Rye Women's Softball League, who have one more week to go. Little League summer seasons are just starting while adult softball playoffs begin Monday in Rye Brook.

Men's Softball A League

Fourth place T&J's edged sixth place Jay Dee's 6-5 Monday followed by a 14-9 victory over first place Tony's Legacy to finish the season at 6-7. Other action included third place Poppy's Cafe defeating fifth place Rollins Insurance 15-7 to end the season above .500 at 7-6. Rollins and Jay Dee's both finish at 5-8.
Men's Softball B League

The lone game of week had first place Rye Liquor defeating the fourth place Roadhouse Regulars 7-4 to finish the season with a 12-1 record. Roadhouse finished the season with a 5-8 record.
Men's Softball C League
A tie remains atop the standings as the Rye Bar and Grill Hackers and M-n-M are currently 9-3 after the Hackers beat the Dublin Dodgers 11-7, and M-n-M beat the same team 24-17. Other action had the fourth place Wranglers beating fifth place Rye Ford Second Chance 14-13. It will be interesting to see how the final standings play out before the post-season as the Hackers and M-n-M are in action Thursday against the third and fourth place teams of Uncle Henry's Gabelli and the Wranglers, respectively.
Women's Softball
The second place Poppy's Ballbusters are currently on an eight-game winning streak, their most recent wins coming in the form of an 11-0 shutout against the sixth place Hot Shotz and 13-6 over the seventh place Dave Bryne's Rum Runners. There is one more week left in the regular season before the playoffs and it looks like standings will stay the same but you never can tell in sports. A game to watch closely is the third place Legal Eagles against fourth place Rye Brook Thursday at Disbrow Field. The Eagles are 6-3 while Rye Brook is 5-4.
Rye Little League Tournament Teams
The Rye Little League 11 and 12-year-old tournament team suffered a 10-2 loss to Ardsley on Saturday. The team then came up short in a 6-5 loss to Eastchester in Loser Bracket play. Ardsley then beat Eastchester 5-1 to win the 11 and 12-year old tournament Wednesday.
Rye Brook Men's Softball
The Crash have gained sole possesion of first place after surviving a 17-14 scare from the second place QDogs. The Crash currently stand at 11-3 and the Q Dogs 9-4. The Crash defeated fifth place Sound Shore Productions 24-9 and fourth place UK United to get to this point. The Q Dogs defeated the third place GMEN 20-11, but then suffered defeat to the South League's first place team Double RValenti Dental 14-8. In other action, fourth place P18 beat Double R/Valenti Dental 14-10 while the fifth place Legends escaped the third place Errorists 19-18. UK United of the North League was victorious over Sound Shore 23-18. Playoffs begin Monday with the top four teams in each division and/or league qualifying. The third and fourth place teams are currently tied, so it'll be interesting to see which of the teams receive a playoff berth.
Rye Brook Summer League Teams
Eight and Under
The Rye Brook Travel baseball club 8-years old and under team have started the season 4-0 with their most recent wins coming 5-3 Thursday over New Canaan, and 3-1 Saturday over Cortlandt/Frozen Ropes. After a rainout Wednesday against Pelham, the group plays Ardsley on Friday at 5:45 p.m. at the Pine Ridge Park Old Field.
Nine and Under White
The 9-year old and under white team are currently 3-1 on the young season after narrowly defeating the Pelham white team 9-8 on Saturday. Their first loss came 4-5 against New Castle Rock on Monday. They redeemed themselves however, 10-2 Wednesday over New Rochelle. Next up is a game against Kensico at 5:45 p.m. on Friday at SUNY Purchase.
Nine and Under Blue
The 9-year old and under blue team currently stands at 2-1, their most recent games include a 5-8 defeat Saturday to New Castle - Kuren. But Monday brought a 14-7 win over the Hillcrest white team. The team will have to wait until Saturday to play Pleasantville after their game Wednesday against the Old Greenwich-Riverside Community Center Thunder Blue was rained out.
10 and Under
The 10 year-old and under team have split their first two games so far this season to currently stand at 1-1. Pacoy got the best of them in an 8-3 defeat, but the players redeemed themselves 6-3 against the Stamford West American League All-Stars Tuesday. Youth Baseball of New Rochelle is the team's upcoming opponent on Thursday followed by the Tigers on Saturday morning, which creates ample opportunity to earn a winning record.
12 and Under
The 12-year old and unders are also 1-1, defeating Pelham in their first game of the season, 12-5, on Saturday. Their Ardsley game was rained out, but will be able to resume their season against the Tigers on Monday at Lincoln slated for 5:45 p.m.
13 and Under
The 13-year old and unders have had a hectic and tiring schedule so far this season to currently stand at 4-7. Coaches Gregg Picker, Ted Sabato and Scott Zecker's players had won four out of their last five games before a 6-3 loss to the Diamond Buddies Red team Tuesday. Wins were against Tigers Sports Club, 16-6, and 7-0 and 12-7 in doubleheader Saturday against the Westchester Wolverines. After a 5-4 defeat the next day to the New Rochelle Braves, Rye Brook routed Pleasantville 13-1. Larchmont/Mamaroneck is up next on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m at Rye Neck High School.
16 and Under
The 16-year old and unders were 3-8 before two rainouts on Tuesday and Wednesday, their most recent results include an 8-5 victory over Pleasantville followed by a 12-4 defeat to Yonkers PAL. Rye Brook redeemed themselves 16-2 the next day, but suffered two straight losses: 11-2 to the Gotham 15-year olds and 7-4 against New Rochelle. Mother Nature should cooperate for a game Tuesday against the Gotham's 16 and under team at 5:45 p.m. at Blind Brook High School.
