Woman Found Unconscious, Not Breathing After Assault; Rye Brook Man Arrested For Attempted Murder: Police

The violent incident took place Monday morning at a Westchester home, according to the Rye Brook Police Department.

RYE BROOK, NY — A brutal assault has led to attempted murder charges against a Westchester man, according to cops.

The Rye Brook Police Department says that on Monday morning, officers responded to a Westview Ave. home after receiving a report of a dispute.

Once at the scene, police found a 37-year-old woman who had been assaulted, and was unconscious and not breathing. They began CPR on the woman and detained a suspect in the home.

Port Chester Rye-Rye Brook EMS soon arrived and performed life-saving measures on the victim. She is currently listed in critical, but stable condition, according to police.

Rye Brook Police Department detectives launched an investigation, with the help of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety.

Police say that 30-year-old Hugo Soto-Diaz, who lives at the the home where the violent incident took place, was charged with second-degree attempted murder.

He was arraigned in Rye Town Court, and is being held at the Westchester County Jail.
