1 Injured When Fire Breaks Out At Farmingville Home

It started just before 2 a.m., drawing area firefighters to the scene.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — One person was injured and taken to a local hospital after a fire broke out at a Farmingville home, drawing area firefighters early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at the Berkshire Drive home just before 2 a.m. and Arson Squad detectives responded to investigate, a Suffolk police spokeswoman said.

In a post on the Farmingville Fire Department's Facebook page, officials said their crew from Truck 7 were the first firefighters to respond to the house as a search team and they also sent a crew to ventilate the roof.

"Great teamwork by all on scene," the post read.

The fire drew other departments, including from as far away as Coram, according to a report.

Arson Squad detectives are continuing to investigate.
