UPDATE: Police ID Man Killed In Crash On Veterans Memorial Highway

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead at Long Island Community Hospital, Suffolk police said.

HOLBROOK, NY — A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Holbrook on Wednesday morning, Suffolk police said.

Steven Russell was driving a 2021 Ford Bronco northbound on Lincoln Avenue when it was struck by a 2015 Ford F550 that was traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway at about 7:10 a.m., said police, adding that the F550 then struck a 2005 Chevrolet van that was stopped at the intersection.

Russell, 69, of Brentwood, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The man driving of the F550, and three male passengers were also taken to Long Island Community and they were treated for minor injuries, said police, adding that the driver of the Chevrolet, Carl Pozzini was not injured in the crash.

The Bronco was impounded for a safety check, according to police. Motor Carrier Safety Section officers also performed safety checks on the F550 and Chevrolet at the scene, police said.
