- Joe Scopo: My house being ripped apart and no electric
- Antonena Holly Cariello: We didn’t have much damage at all thankfully. I remember my one dog being so scared and shaking all night. The other one slept thru it lol! I also remember losing Internet and TV and my online masters program NOT being understanding at all that I couldn’t complete my work due to no computers. I remember driving around the next day to survey the damage with my father. We stopped at a deli that was charging $25 for a case of fcking water bottles! Price gouging was terrible after the storm. All of the people in the deli let that guy have it! I remember sitting in my car and charging all the electronics up, even though cell service was non existent. Also, I remember going with a friend at 1AM and getting gas. We stalked every gas station for a week trying to figure out where to get it from. We got there and there was like 4 cars a head of us so we were in and out with a full tank!
- Danielle Solomon: Was 6 months pregnant with my son. Trees down all around our home and block. My daughter being crushed that we were not able to stay home bc we had no electric for days. Not seeing my husband for days bc he was working around the clock with the long island rail road. Everyone in my neighborgood helping one another out. Running extra extension cords from generators. Driving home in darkness to the sounds of generators to check on my dogs. Waiting on gas lines and praying I make it to the pump how would I get my daughter to school.
