RONKONKOMA, NY — A pilot of a plane was able to land a plane safely on its belly — in a wheels-up landing — at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma on Sunday afternoon, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The wheels-up flight 684 landed safely at the airport at around 3:35 p.m., after the pilot reported a possible generator issue, according to a spokeswoman.
The Embraer Phenom 300 was headed from Nantucket Memorial Airport in Massachusetts to Norfolk International Airport in Virginia, according to the agency.
The FAA will investigate, the agency said.
