Find out how to keep your home safe and accessible.

It is important to adapt your home for easy mobility as you age. At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 3 at the Sachem Public Library, a panel of experts from the Senior Umbrella Network will help you discover your options for assessing your current living environment:

Stefanie Pacchiano from United Lifeline Home Services will address independence through fall prevention while maintaining safety and accessibility.

Paul Davey from Independent Lifestyle Designs will discuss “Aging in Placeconstruction projects, making homes more accessible for people suffering from age-related disabilities, progressive illness, or traumatic injuries.

Ira Minkin from Safeway Lifts will talk about home modifications including stair lifts, ramps, walk-in tubs, and grab bars.

Kathleen Mazza from Transitions USA will explain how her organization helps seniors and the disabled with home organization, moving coordination, packing, and home safety precautions.

Anthony McCabe of Genesis Creations Contracting will discuss the design and creation of safe home environments. Their services are directed towards veterans, seniors who choose to age in place, as well the disabled or those about to be released from the hospital or rehab.
