The Student Perspective: Nor'Easter 2011

There truly is no way to put into words the feelings surrounding the football game that will be played on Friday night at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium.

It is a Sachem-Sachem showdown between North and East, a scenario that has played out before our eyes over the past few weeks. As both teams made the playoffs this year, the idea of them meeting up at some point was always there, but seemed like a bit of a long-shot.

Now, one of the biggest games in recent Sachem football history is upon us. The students and players from both North and East will undoubtedly be preparing themselves more for this game than any other this year.

It is not often that the two schools play each other in any sport, let alone football at this point in the season. The winner moves onto the Suffolk County championship, a contest that North has lost the last two years to William Floyd.

The atmosphere at this game will be electric, as the two squads will be looking to advance and take the next step towards winning that county championship.
