BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders were busy last week, according to the Suffolk County Police Department's logs.

Here's a snapshot of some incidents and arrests:

MIDDLE ISLAND

  • A man reported that another man known to him threatened him with a knife on Yaphank-Middle Island Road in Middle Island at around 1:45 p.m. on March 14, police said. He did not wish to press charges.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION

  • A woman reported to police on March 13 that someone used a washed check to get $2,800 from her bank account. The bank refunded her money, but required that she document the incident and make a report, police said.

RONKONKOMA

  • The driver of a 2022 Honda Accord reported that the vehicle was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on the Long Island Expressway in Ronkonkoma at around 4:27 p.m. on March 5.
  • A woman was arrested after police say she swung a pole at a man at a home on Balsam Drive in Medford on March 14. The woman, 35, was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, police said. The man was not hurt in the incident.
  • A man was arrested after police say he waved a spring-loaded knife at someone at the Roadway Inn in Ronkonkoma on Sunday. He was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors.

SELDEN

  • A Mount Sinai man was arrested on March 10 after police say he bolted from an officer in a traffic stop in Selden back in December. The man, 32, bolted from the officer on Country Road 83, near Mooney Pond Road, and was later charged with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, a misdemeanor, police said.
