Casino Night/Charity Auction Fundraiser for Sachem Graduate, Nick Franzi at Villa Lombardis, March 13, 2014

One of Sachem's own needs our help!!
Nick Franzi
was a wonderful Sachem student and a promising athlete and like any other teenage boy, was normal in every way.  All that changed 4 years ago when he was diagnosed with Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia (CML).  Since then Nick has faced 2 solid years of hospitalizations, chemo and radiation, 2 bone marrow transplants and many setbacks.  One such setback has left him unable to walk.  During this time, Nick's dad lost his job and devastatingly, his mom was diagnosed with a severe heart condition and is now n a heart transplant list.  His dad is now the full time caregiver to both Nick and Nick's mom.  Through all this, the bills have piled up and the debt they now face is astronomical.  Although Nick is finally out of the hospital, he still needs to travel to Manhattan for treatments and faces long-term physical therapy in an effort to regain the use of his legs.  And so, the family's debt keeps growing.  in addition, his mom's health continues to deteriorate and she is still in need of a transplant.  Please consider attending this worthwhile event; it promises to be a fun filled evening.  if you would like to help, but cannot attend the event, perhaps you would consider making a cash donation? Checks can be made out to the Testaverde fund/Nick Franzi and mailed c/o Cathy Huber, 63 Summerfield Dr, Holtsville, NY.  We are also looking for goods/services that can be donated to be used at our charity auction that evening.  Please contact Kerry Quinn at 289-9099 for more info, and thank you.
